ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Thousands lost power in central New York on Sunday evening after severe storms — nearly 13,000 in Onondaga and over 6,000 in Cortland counties experienced outages, with service expected to be restored by 8:30 p.m.  Syracuse.com

CRIME NEWS

  • A 26-year-old man was stabbed early Sunday at 1:14 a.m. in Armory Square on Walton Street while trying to break up a fight—he was taken to University Hospital and his injury is not life-threatening, police said.  CNY Central
  • The Syracuse Police Department is investigating a suspicious death as officers collect evidence and interview witnesses—officials say further details will be shared when available. The department is also welcoming a record recruitment class of 25 new officers—its largest intake in years that will boost local public safety.  CNY Central

  • Syracuse held its 43rd annual St. Patrick's Parade on Saturday, March 15, 2025 — record warm weather drew thousands downtown to celebrate with packed bars and a lively Marriott Syracuse Downtown.   • The Skaneateles boys hockey team won a historic three-peat with a 3-0 victory over Ogdensburg Free Academy on Sunday, March 16, 2025—retiring coach Mitch Major ended his career with the win.
