ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ AAA says that seasonal demand and a conflict abroad are pushing gas pump prices upward nationally. In Syracuse, fuel now costs $3.89 — a 14-cent increase from last Monday — with diesel prices also rising statewide. CNY Central
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Hochul today announced over $43M in community investments, including $35M from Micron & $8.5M from state funds, to boost housing, education, workforce training and transportation ahead of Micron’s planned semiconductor facility in Central New York. The funding aims to support job and population growth in the region. CNY Central
- ➤ Manlius town officials are asking residents for input on the Burdick-Genesee Corridor Strategic Plan to guide future developments on North Burdick and East Genesee Streets. A public survey is open through Monday, April 6 (responses submitted online). CNY Central
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Nonprofit developer Home HeadQuarters (using a $3.05 million state grant and county funds) will start building 10 affordable single-family houses on Merriman Avenue this spring targeting owner-occupant buyers on the Near West Side. The project aims to boost neighborhood stability. Syracuse.com
- ➤ Van Buren town officials scaled back the Crego project after residents raised density concerns. The revised plan calls for 92 single-family homes and 200 rental townhouses on 100 acres off Crego and Tappan Street near Baldwinsville, with developer Brandon Jacobson moving ahead with plans.
