- ➤ Make-A-Wish is inviting community members to volunteer in its WishMakers Wanted program during World Wish Month. The organization said every 20 minutes a child is diagnosed with a critical illness, and new volunteers help bring hope and joy to local families. CNY Central
- ➤ This weekend, several local events in central New York offer fun for all ages. Enjoy a musical at the Everson Museum (with audience participation) and a Syracuse Mets homestand featuring fireworks and an Easter egg hunt, along with family festivities at Meier’s Creek Brewing Company and the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. - ➤ The Lender Center for Social Justice hosted its second community expo in downtown Syracuse, where over 280 residents from 110 organizations joined workshops on grant writing, mental health, and data collection and attended a panel discussion with local leaders. - ➤ Amateur winemakers are invited to showcase their wines at the 2026 Great New York State Fair Amateur Wine Competition on Wednesday, June 3 at the fairgrounds. Wines must be delivered by May 22 or May 29 and winners will be announced at noon on Sunday, August 30. CNY Central
- ➤ Fox Nation premiered America's Churches with Benjamin Hall, a 25-minute documentary that spotlights Hendricks Chapel as a hub for faith, athletics, and community at Syracuse University. - ➤ Syracuse University students Mallory Brown, Kenna Cummings and Khuong Pham earned the 2026 Goldwater Scholarship for their STEM research.
