- ➤ Onondaga County lawmakers approved a temporary cap on the gas and diesel sales tax that will take effect on June 1 and expire Sept. 1, limiting the tax to 16 cents per gallon (insulating drivers from rising costs). The bipartisan measure is expected to ease pump costs this summer. CNY Central
