- ➤ State prison leader Daniel Martuscello vowed to end normalized violence after a grand jury alleged that corrections officers fatally beat inmate Messiah Nantwi at Mid-State Correctional Facility—following a December incident at Marcy Correctional Facility—and he said his department will fully review its operations while all 20 charged officers have pleaded not guilty.
