- ➤ Chobani announced a new plant in Rome that will break ground later this year and is expected to be operating by 2027—this 1.4-million-square-foot facility will create 1,000 jobs and support local dairy farms by buying up to 6 billion pounds of milk a year. Syracuse.com
- ➤ Michael Greene is turning the vacant First Baptist Church into The Mizpah—a wine tasting bar and event space—with summer construction and a planned opening late 2025. - ➤ Syracuse police said that on April 23 a man was shot near Armory Square when he approached a car with a knife at about 4:29 p.m. at the busy intersection of South West and West Fayette streets — officers blocked off Walton to West Fayette and West Fayette to South West as they continued investigating the incident. - ➤ Three prison guards at Mid-State Correctional Facility (Marcy) admitted in April 2023 to assaulting an inmate by punching and kicking him and lying during an internal investigation (they face potential sentences of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000). CNY Central
