- ➤ Central Square school district and state DOT began a new traffic study after a 12-year-old girl was fatally hit on April 1 while crossing Route 11 near her middle school, and officials—who met on Thursday with local leaders from the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, Assemblyman Will Barclay, and State Sen. - ➤ Kenneth Jackson passed away on April 23 at age 67 — he was the longtime writer, publisher and editor of Urban CNY, Syracuse’s oldest Black newspaper/website — and a trusted voice for local Black community news.
