- ➤ Syracuse Police said a 15-year-old was shot on Stone Court late Friday morning after ShotSpotter detected gunfire at 11 a.m.—the teen was injured in his lower leg and taken to Upstate University Hospital where he is in stable condition. CNY Central
- ➤ At a busy intersection near Armory Square in Syracuse, two strangers got into a road rage when 61-year-old Ezell Hicks Jr. left his car with a knife and was fatally shot at about 4:30 p.m. on April 23 by a 43-year-old man carrying a legal pistol + prosecutors said a grand jury will review the case. - ➤ Skaneateles passed a law to ban trucks over five tons from 32 town roads that connect with county or state routes unless they are on local deliveries—town officials say the move aims to reduce safety hazards and road damage. Signs will be posted soon—drivers must avoid these roads when using via GPS shortcuts. Syracuse.com
- ➤ The City of Syracuse filed a lawsuit against Nob Hill Apartment Group LLC for 67 open code violations at a four-building complex (on Lafayette Road) that include broken water heaters and elevators that do not work properly, and will fine the owners $100 per day (totaling $340,000 if not fixed). The suit, started on April 16, is the second case this year against landlords for unsafe living conditions, and a court hearing is set for June 4 at the county courthouse. Central Current
