  • On Saturday, Honor Flight Syracuse held a bottle and can drive at Destiny USA to raise money for veteran trips to visit memorials in D.C. and has flown 1,600 veterans so far. The drive will resume today from (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) for more donations.  CNY Central

  • The new Eastwood Refillery in Syracuse lets locals refill household products by the ounce with sustainable, non-toxic options. Founders Troy and Michelle Stevens opened the store in mid-April—offering free local delivery and set hours for shopping.  Syracuse.com

CRIME NEWS

  • Anthony Rodriguez, 29, the accused getaway driver in the murder of 12-year-old Syracuse boy James Springer III, had his murder and attempted murder convictions reversed Friday by the state Appellate Division of the Fourth Judicial Department due to an error in jury instructions on circumstantial evidence — he faces a new trial while other convictions remain in place.  Syracuse.com

  • Syracuse.com revealed its All-CNY Boys Bowling team for the 2024-25 season, highlighting all-star bowlers (four bowler of the year finalists were named). The player of the year will be announced at the All-CNY Sports Awards on Tuesday, June 24 at 6 p.m. at Liverpool High School Auditorium.  Syracuse.com
  • Former Syracuse Orange edge-rusher Fadil Diggs was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the 254th overall pick in the seventh round of the NFL Draft—his selection marked Syracuse's fourth NFL pick in the draft, the most since 2006.  Syracuse.com
  • The Syracuse lacrosse team played its final regular season game against North Carolina on April 26 at 5 p.m. ET at the JMA Wireless Dome. The game aired on ACC Network — fans could watch it free on DirecTV Stream — as Syracuse tried to earn a top seed for the ACC Tournament.  Syracuse.com
  • Syracuse running back LeQuint Allen Jr. was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the seventh round with pick 236 in the 2025 NFL Draft—he showed strong route running and pass-catching skills at Syracuse. He set a school record in receptions and had back-to-back 1,000‑yard seasons—Allen now aims to earn a spot on the Jaguars’ active roster.  Syracuse.com
