  • AAA reports that gas prices in Syracuse have jumped to $4.55 per gallon today, the highest level in four years. The agency advises drivers to plan routes + combine errands to mitigate fuel use.  CNY Central

  • Graduates of the Class of 2026 celebrated their commencement weekend with processions into the JMA Wireless Dome, keynote addresses by Mike Tirico, and several honorary degrees awarded. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Monday morning, the Syracuse Police Department held its Fallen Heroes Ceremony at Forman Park to honor 12 officers killed in the line of duty from 1893 to 2024; the event follows a standoff on Tyler Court that injured three officers two days ago.  CNY Central

HEALTH NEWS

  • A Syracuse startup received FDA clearance for its reusable, self-cleaning catheter system that lowers infection risk by allowing up to 100 uses. The company plans to begin manufacturing soon and will launch the device through Veterans Affairs clinics later this year — a move that may reduce costs for patients.  Syracuse.com

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The latest week of recorded real estate sales in Onondaga County included 30 deals ranging from $151 to $39.8M, spanning residential, commercial, and unique properties (bars, motels, farmland, towers). The transactions occurred from April 26 to May 2.  Syracuse.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • Syracuse women’s lacrosse ended its season with an 11-10 overtime loss to 6-seed Navy on May 10 in the NCAA Tournament. The Orange squandered a six-goal lead and coach Regy Thorpe said the team is preparing adjustments for next season.  WAER
  • SU's men's lacrosse team overcame early struggles to beat Yale 16-15 in an NCAA Tournament first-round game today, pulling ahead with a strong second-half comeback. They will face North Carolina Saturday at Hofstra University at 2:30 p.m.  Syracuse.com
