- ➤ On Friday evening at Syracuse's Inner Harbor—thousands gathered for the Battle of the Wings as judges awarded Change of Pace the gold for its hot honey garlic wing, with Peppino’s and TK Tavern on the Hill earning silver and bronze. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On May 15, the Syracuse Common Council cut $16 million from Mayor Ben Walsh’s proposed budget to adjust funding for police overtime, code enforcement and public works—Walsh has until Monday to veto the changes while councilors maintain the cuts are needed for fiscal balance. The adjustments lower police overtime funds to about $5.5 million and reduce DPW spending by $3.7 million as code enforcement sees a nearly $1 million boost. Central Current
