  • More than 20 community members marched Sunday through downtown Syracuse—starting at Victory Temple Fellowship Church and ending at the Public Safety Building—to honor George Floyd, who was murdered five years ago. The group chanted for justice and held flags with his face while observing an 8 minute 46 second moment of silence.  Syracuse.com

  • A house on Totman Road in Cicero was badly damaged by a fire on Sunday afternoon after a man working on his car saw smoke in the garage and called 911, and firefighters took 20 minutes to control the blaze—an ammunition explosion complicated their work.  Syracuse.com

  • Section III baseball seeds were announced on Sunday — defending champions West Genesee, Jamesville-DeWitt and Oriskany earned top seeds in their classes while Baldwinsville, Bishop Ludden and Beaver River led in AAA, B and C. Games for classes B and C begin today — Class A, D and quarterfinal rounds for AAA and AA start Tuesday with finals at Onondaga Community College on June 1 for AAA and AA, June 2 for A and B, and June 3 for C and D.  Syracuse.com
  • The Syracuse Mets split a Saturday doubleheader against Rochester, losing the first game 7 to 4 and winning the second 14 to 3 at NBT Bank Stadium while Joey Meneses led with four hits including a home run. The team ended its six-game series with Rochester on Sunday night.  Syracuse.com
