- ➤ Syracuse police responded to a shooting near Upper Onondaga Park Pool on Tuesday when shots were heard around 2 p.m. and a 15-year-old boy was shot in the abdomen and is in critical condition — the suspect remains at large. Syracuse.com
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Syracuse City School District closed elementary, middle, and Pre-K schools Tuesday due to extreme heat—officials said schools without air conditioning will have half-days today and Thursday while high schools use a normal schedule for Regents exams, and Thursday will be the last day of school. - ➤ Micron will release its draft environmental impact report tomorrow at White Pine Commerce Park in Clay that shows how air, water and wildlife will be affected by the planned chip plant—residents will have 45 days to review the hundreds of pages as infrastructure work continues nearby; the company plans to break ground on the plant in November.
