  • The Solvay Public Library is hosting its third annual free comic convention on Monday, July 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. in its community room (local artists and special guests will be in attendance) and kids can earn three free tickets (or five if they dress up) for a Comic Con-like experience.  CNY Central

CRIME NEWS

  • Syracuse police charged Anthony Price with second-degree murder after officers found 40-year-old Nicole Azzoto dead during a welfare check at a home on Glass Terrace on Friday at 2:27 p.m.—Price is held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.  Syracuse.com

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Seventy middle school students are exploring flight science and engineering during a STEM camp at Syracuse University this week. Organized by the Technology Alliance of Central New York — the camp includes experiments in wind and water tunnels and virtual reality simulations — to spark interest in STEM careers.  WAER

  • Boeheim’s Army played against the Herkimer Originals at 6 p.m. Saturday at SRC Arena on OCC campus in The Basketball Tournament. The Syracuse team, featuring local stars Buddy Boeheim and debuting Elijah Hughes—along with Charles Pride and others—looked to advance to Monday’s game with a win.  Syracuse.com
  • Coach Allen Griffin made his head coaching debut with Boeheim’s Army when they faced the Herkimer Originals at 6 p.m. Saturday at Onondaga Community College.
