- ➤ Central New York bikers rode in the inaugural Iron and Honor charity ride hosted by the Three Pillars Chapter of the Widows Sons to raise funds for Sarah's Guest House—a nonprofit in Syracuse that offers lodging, meals, and support for patients and families during treatment. The ride started in Liverpool and ended at Meier’s Creek Brewing Company in Cazenovia, and donations will help the house continue serving guests who pay only $25 a night. CNY Central

- ➤ At a busy downtown intersection in Syracuse, a man was shot three times and died when a non-law enforcement shooter fired after the man pulled out a knife—police say few details are known about how or why the incident occurred. Syracuse.com
- ➤ Police responded at 2:45 a.m. on August 3 at 809 Valley Drive when a 52-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his leg during a physical altercation inside the home—officers provided aid until EMS arrived and the victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition. - ➤ Interfaith Works hosted its 25th festival called Building Bridges at the Inner Harbor with live performances, food, and activities that built community dialogue—over 70 volunteers helped and Bishop Matthews-Carter said the event provided a safe space for different cultures to connect. - ➤ The Syracuse Police Department is planning National Night Out tomorrow at Kirk Park to let residents meet first responders with displays of SWAT equipment, firetrucks, food and music.
