GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ New York Governor Kathy Hochul allocated $127 million to boost police technology across the state. $6.7 million will support Central New York, with $1.3 million for the Syracuse Police Department— the funds will buy cameras, license plate readers and a robot dog to help in critical incidents. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Governor's Traffic Safety Committee reminds local parents that Child Passenger Safety Week began on September 21 and runs through September 27. A National Seat Check event is scheduled in Cortland on the 27th at 175 Port Watson Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—parents can also book appointments at regional sites if they cannot attend. - ➤ Karisha Solomon is a certified death doula with over 20 years of experience who helps people face the end of life without fear—she spoke during a WCNY-FM screening of the documentary 'Caregiving', which shows caregiving challenges and triumphs. WCNY
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, Syracuse beat Clemson 34-21 at Memorial Stadium, but quarterback Steve Angeli left the game with an injury after throwing for 244 yards and two touchdowns. Coach Fran Brown said Angeli—who is expected to miss a couple of weeks—will return once he recovers. Syracuse.com
