- ➤ Syracuse University’s dorm construction — part of a comprehensive housing strategy — will close sidewalks and cause detours at University Place, Waverly, Comstock and the University Avenue Hotel, a campus official said in a Friday email. - ➤ Upstate Community Hospital has introduced a new birthing simulator—using a high-fidelity mannequin—to help nurses practice responding to emergencies during childbirth. - ➤ On Friday, Mat Williamson won his third Outlaw 200 race at Fulton Speedway by taking the lead after 31 laps and earning a $20,000 check in front of one of the largest crowds in the event’s history—he recorded his 29th win this season.
