- ➤ Onondaga County Office for the Aging announced a new dining site at Syracuse Community Connections at 401 South Ave—where PEACE, Inc. will serve lunch around noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. About 40 people are expected to participate after they register. CNY Central

- ➤ Governor Kathy Hochul directed the gates at the New York State Fairgrounds in Geddes to be lit green overnight—part of College Application Month aimed at encouraging high school seniors to apply to college. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Due to the federal government shutdown, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the Home Energy Assistance Program applications in the National Grid service area will be delayed until mid-November—affecting over 52,000 Central New York households that rely on heating aid.
