- ➤ Crews at the massive Novelis aluminum plant in Oswego County are working around the clock to fix fire damage that is costing a major customer $1 billion in lost truck sales—photos released Friday show workers installing new steel trusses to replace a 40,000‐square‐foot roof section. - ➤ Saab is expanding its local operations in DeWitt by buying a former youth sports center for electronics testing, office space, and warehouse use—this will be its fifth building in Central New York and is expected to add at least 50 jobs soon. - ➤ The New York State Department of Transportation warned drivers on I-481 Southbound that lane reductions will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays from Monday, October 27 through Friday, October 31—construction is weather dependent in Cicero and Dewitt. CNY Central
- ➤ State officials warned drivers that U.S. Route 11 in Cicero was reduced to one lane in each direction from West Circle Drive to Caughdenoy Road on Monday, October 27 and today for paving operations — construction activities are weather-dependent and speeding fines double in work zones. - ➤ The New York State Department of Transportation announced that I-81 southbound will be closed from Exit 17 to Exit 78 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weeknights until November 8 for paving operations affecting drivers leaving Syracuse. Motorists must follow the detour via Exit 17 to McClure Avenue and U.S. Route 11—construction activities are weather-dependent—and fines for speeding in work zones will be doubled. CNY Central
