- ➤ Local entrepreneur Jeff Knauss is distributing over $200,000 in SNAP relief gift cards to help families affected by a gap in benefits. The first 1,000 approved recipients will receive a $150 Wegmans gift card for pickup at designated locations—remaining funds will support local food aid organizations after SNAP benefits are reinstated. - ➤ David Aitken ’94, G’97 is named the first chair of the Hendricks Chapel Advisory Board after 35 years of close work with the chapel—he will help set up committees for programs, marketing and planning the centennial in 2030. Syracuse University
- ➤ The Office of People and Culture is accepting applications for its Administrative Fellowship that offers a $10,000 stipend and mentorship to mid-level University staff to lead an innovative project. Interested staff must apply by Nov. 25 – the fellowship will span one to two years. Syracuse University

- ➤ Governor Kathy Hochul announced New York’s annual holiday donation drive began on November 1 to collect new, unwrapped toys, coats, school supplies and non-perishable food for families in need across the state. Donations can be dropped off at designated sites including the State Office Building on E. Washington Street in Syracuse and will be accepted through December 15—helping local agencies support those in need during the holiday season. CNY Central
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Le Moyne College will offer $10,000 stipends to qualified health grad students to help cover child care and other life needs—using state taxpayer funds to support Central New York’s future nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants. - ➤ Students in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders now have a new simulation lab in the Gebbie Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic that lets them practice hospital scenarios in a safe, controlled setting.
