- ➤ Syracuse Police Benevolent Association President Joe Moran defended his vague Facebook post from Sunday evening that mentioned 40 arrests and five guns recovered in Armory Square on Friday and Saturday—saying he wanted the community to know what was happening—while police chief Joe Cecile and Deputy Mayor Sharon Owens explained the arrests were for open container and loitering violations as officers worked to curb late-night issues downtown.
