- ➤ An Auburn officer’s ear was partially detached — the injury occurred when he fell onto a metal wire — during a Monday night traffic stop for a suspected drunk driver near North and York Streets, and the driver, who refused a breath test, was charged with DWI and assaulting an officer before being taken into custody at Cayuga County Jail. - ➤ Landmark Theatre in Syracuse is undergoing a $1.5 million restoration that cleans, repaints, and repairs nearly 100-year-old decorative features in its auditorium to revive its 1928 look. The work began after the May 18 closing of Beetlejuice and will be finished before Sept. 9 for Hamilton’s opening—offering a refreshed venue for the new season. Syracuse.com

- ➤ Crews are finishing two floors in the former Central Tech facility—soon to be the new STEAM school—for 250 students who will start in the fall.
